Transferring files from Linux to Windows 10 through Cloud (Epic Games)
Hello,
I played metro last light on linux mint for a week and got quite far. After switching back to windows 10, my progress appears to have vanished. I installed the game through the Epic Games Launcher, which I had downloaded earlier and also via the Heroic Games Launcher on Linux Mint 22.04. I expected it to be saved in the cloud if I played on Steam or Epic, but it seems like a misunderstanding. It would be very disappointing to have to start over after such an effort. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
it should support cloud synchronization on both Epic and Steam platforms. Issues with automatic cloud saving or restoring from Linux/Windows could occur since Linux uses different save paths compared to Windows. Manual restoration should still be feasible as long as files remain saved on Linux. Manual restoration involves transferring files from the Linux version (using the game user ID path) into the Windows version (%USERPROFILE%\Documents\4A Games\Metro Last Light).
Unfortunately i no longer use linux at all, and that´s because the gaming experience was quite terrible. At some point during the game , this strange problem started. I could only hear the characters´ voices if my character was facing them directly . In some cutscenes ( there is plenty in Metro last light ) i didn´t have any sound at all, probably because of the same reason. Also the gunshots became extremely quiet after a while. I had flickering images with stuttering movements on more than one level. So i did a fresh install of windows 10.
