It doesn't depend on your MB. Just reinstall Windows 8.1 and upgrade it again for free.

Your license restricts the OS to one system at a time, but since your key is already active, you can reactivate it by using the appropriate activation method for your current device.

It seems this won't function as intended. You'll need to set up Windows from the ground up, which will require replacing your current software.

Remembering the purchase of the 8.1 key, I needed a re-install, which required two installations. Considering this, I should be fine formatting my SSD and installing it on the new system.

Yes, the reinstallation on the same machine shouldn't be considered a fresh setup.
