Hello, I’m checking if it’s feasible to reuse the same Windows key I have on my old hard drive for installation on a new SSD. I want both drives to work together on the same computer, and I’d like the system to boot from the SSD rather than the traditional hard drive. Additionally, I’m curious whether this change would impact any files stored on the old drive since the boot source shifts to the SSD. Your advice would be really appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you for your response. Is it truly that straightforward? Installing the OS using the same key twice might indeed disable it. Appreciate your time!

well it worked for me. Heres how I did mine. Step 1. go to bios and set ur boot drive to the ssd Step 2. Install Windows on your SSD (if key dosen't work call microsoft, it should most likley work) Step 3. (Optional) go to bios and set ur HDD to your secondary boot Step 4. Go to disc management and Format your HDD more than once (to get rid of any lingering data) Step 5. go to bios and set ur HDD to secondary boot

No, it won't, unless you run the OS simultaneously but otherwise it won't.

Also take out your hard drive before step 1, then reinstall it at step 3.

Thanks for the suggestion... I'm guessing it's set up specifically for the SSD only, right?
