Has anyone used this app before? Are there any downsides? I'm planning to move Windows to a new SSD and format an old one.

You're asking about the specific type of free application people refer to when talking about cloning a drive. There are many tools available, each with different features and purposes.

With a Samsung SSD you can use their dedicated utility straight away, it’s very easy to set up. If not, most people suggest Macrium Reflect as a reliable alternative.

I haven't seen it on JayzTwoCent's YouTube channel recently. The video showed a demonstration, but I'm unsure about its safety or any potential downsides. Since you're using a pre-built PC, you won't need to install Windows from a disc, which makes the process smoother.

I utilized Macrium Reflect to duplicate a drive onto an SSD without any issues. A free version is accessible on their website, though you might need to provide your email to receive the download link via mail.

Macrium Reflect is my favorite tool for cloning Windows. Done this literally hundreds of times; all versions of windows including servers. Unless your install of Windows is having problems there's no reason to re-install it.

Windows is installed on a 128gb SSD. It's full cause I use apps like Da Vinci, Game Clipping ect. Got a 1tb NVMe SSD which I wanted to move over from the 128gb cause I have no other way to install and activate from fresh, so want to just clone over and format my 128gb SSD. Will use the 128gb for my media storage

You must first clone the drive and then remove the old one, but don’t erase it yet. After that, start your system only from the newly cloned drive—Windows won’t detect any differences because everything is copied. The exception could be login details or security settings, as some programs behave differently. I haven’t tried another method before, so that’s the main point.
