Typically moving the key is straightforward (I didn’t face any issues). Make sure you’re using the identical Microsoft account, as sometimes Microsoft restricts access to your account. I’ve never encountered such a situation, though it’s impossible to be certain.

You're welcome to use the previous key. The Windows activation feature can be relocated to the updated system. If not possible, contact Microsoft—they'll clear the record from their database so you can apply it on a new computer.
