Transfer updates from one Windows 10 system to another.
Transfer updates from one Windows 10 system to another.
Hello friends, I'm set up with a dual boot of Windows 10 PRO and another Windows 10 PRO. Updates are automatically downloaded on both systems. Would it be possible to transfer the updates from one instance to another without using the internet? I'd prefer updating only one instance at a time and then copying the same updates to the others. Is this feasible? Please let me know how I can do this. Thanks!
You can transfer the contents of the SoftwareDistribution folder from the updated version to another location. This directory holds Windows Update files: C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. Edited March 14, 2018 by wkdpaul
Windows 10 includes a function that fetches updates from connected computers when they are current.
This function applies to another PC within your network. It doesn't support dual booting.
OK thank you all. So If I copy the contents of C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution from one instance (where windows update was successful) to another instance's same path and boot up 2nd instance then it automatically takes updates from local path than internet? I will also try local network updates option as well as i have total 3 machines. Thanks
