i placed a new gpu inside my acer nitro n 50 100 but it gets too hot inside the case since it has only one fan on the case on the rear cause the case is badly designed, i was told that the motherboard is a DTX form factor and i wanted to know if i could move it to a case like the fractal design focus g since i need more airflow, if a different case it needed could i be linked to which one's would work, don't worry the dust has been cleaned out. picture is to show how bad the case is. https://www.fractal-design.com/products/...s-g/black/ link to case i am considering freddie
The photo makes it hard to tell because the GPU and case are covering part of the motherboard, but there doesn’t seem to be any typical standard components visible. It looks like a low-end motherboard with a poor-quality case, and the dust isn’t filtered either. It probably isn’t a modern GPU, given the situation.

I recommend choosing an ITX or mini tower instead of an ATX, as it saves space and keeps the look neat. To boost cooling, opt for a case with strong airflow and a mesh front panel. Depending on your power supply, you might need a different PSU; it could even require a replacement if yours is an OEM design.
ITX with dual slots seems feasible, though I’d opt for at least mATX. Full ATX would be better if you plan to upgrade the motherboard later, giving you more affordable choices. I tested three ITX cases before moving to ATX, which let my RTX 2080 reach 72°C at 2010Mhz with a 55% fan setting versus 86°C at full speed in ITX. I was surprised by how much temperature dropped with the larger air intake next to the GPU—forcing more air really made a noticeable difference.
Accept different views. Beyond my primary setup (storage needs are crucial) ATX doesn’t make sense for me or most users—it’s just wasted space. System temperatures aren’t linked to the case type; issues usually stem from inefficient airflow or fan placement. That’s why I suggested a mesh front panel case. I’ve managed to lower temperatures significantly by adjusting the case, even reducing its size in several projects. On the budget side, mATX offers the best value for money. If cost is your priority, Intel isn’t an option, so the absence of mATX on their side doesn’t matter much.
I intend to modify it gradually over time. The PSU performs better than typical OEM setups. The only images available are for the N 50 600, which uses Intel CPUs, though I’m unsure about other differences. I’ll obtain a clearer picture soon and take some hardware apart if needed.
From what I can see, there are four screws present, suggesting they're in typical positions. If additional ones exist, they should align accordingly. It seems suitable for fitting into a standard chassis, though a more visible setup would be ideal. Ideally, all screw holes should be clearly visible.
This assumes no changes ahead. For instance, right now Intel and mATX Intel boards are very rare, not just on Intel but also on AMD. You also have plenty of M.2 ports and spare PCIe slots. I initially thought ITX would be too limited, but it turns out many options exist. Upgrading from Gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.5G, and 5G adapters has been tricky. I appreciate the ITX design, but for better cooling, quieter operation, and long-term expandability—especially if you keep the case open—I think ATX is more reliable. I often had to clean the filter in my ITX case because it forced more airflow, whereas ATX cases use larger fans that naturally draw less dust (and even less pet hair). The person who chose the case likely wanted those extra bays.

You essentially trade more SATA ports and PCIe slots, which is mostly a matter of personal preference. From my perspective, mATX/ITX fits most users since they understand their requirements. Most people end up with one PCIe slot and possibly two SATA connectors, that’s the usual setup. Objectively, it doesn’t make sense to justify ATX—this is how things are done in the industry.
