Transfer SSD data and perform a fresh installation on a new system.
Hey, I'm here again. I just got 90% of my new rig and I'm aiming for a tidy setup. The store came with a 1TB HDD running W7 trial, and I added a 250GB SSD to serve as the operating system disk. Now I'm wondering if it's possible to integrate that old installation into the new SSD, starting from scratch. I've checked some guides, but they seemed focused on users who needed backups and had different setups. Thanks for your help!
Obtain your Windows activation key either from a COA label or by extracting it using software from the current system. Next, acquire an installation media such as a DVD or USB drive. Insert the media, verify that it appears as the first boot device in the BIOS settings, and start the installation process. Within the installer, choose a full installation and specify your SSD for storage. Format and partition the drive if necessary. This ensures your Windows installation remains untouched on the HDD, allowing you to delete or format it later as needed.
