Ethernet link operates at 1Gb/s; I didn’t mean to connect the PCIE card to the notebook. The device is only there to confirm the cable is working properly—the issue lies with my PC, not the connection to the router. In the Netherlands it’s shown as Mbit/s, but in the UK we use Mb/s for megabits per second and MB/s for megabytes per second. As you mentioned: It would be appreciated if you wouldn’t react strongly to forum members using incorrect units.
the network card is properly connected with the latest drivers. wifi works well since there’s no external antenna or additional card, making it a reasonable speed for the configuration.
It seems your Ethernet adapter might be having problems. Since the same cable works fine in the laptop (Wi-Fi turned off during testing?), there could be an issue with that setup. I’m curious why both Ethernet cards are affected, especially since the integrated card should handle the connection without issues. The TP-link’s performance shouldn’t be impacted by the internal adapter.
