I recently faced the challenge of setting up my first gaming setup. While on holiday in Australia, I downloaded all 44 games to my external drive because the internet quality was poor and data limits were strict. Now I’m trying to transfer them back into my Steam folder so it can recognize them. So far, the process just keeps restarting without any progress.

When you purchased games on Steam, they remained available as long as your account was active. Simply visit your library and install the games.

I explained my reasons, but the internet in Australia isn't great and I really don't like sitting around waiting. My uncle was kind enough to let me stay downstairs, so I don't want to hit his data limit.

Consider initiating the download, halt it immediately, then examine the precise folder or file name details and transfer an identical named directory from your backup location.

Try it out once you finish a game, don’t forget to back it up. Path of Exile is free to play—avoid the library and don’t let it slip away.

Add game folders to the Steam apps folder should suffice. It will still download and verify that all files are present. Avoid downloading anything directly.
