I owned an old PC running Windows 10 that never got updated to Windows 7. I just got a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM. If I move the hard drive to my new PC, will it function properly? I read online that it’s linked to my Microsoft account, so I assumed it should still work. I’m not entirely confident.

When saving to a different hard drive, it should function properly. The exact outcome depends on the specific drive you're using.

It should function well. However, if problems arise, you can reinstall directly on Windows 10. Your key is valid for both the original and updated systems.
