I have my computer linked to another via direct connect 2.5G adapters, plus a separate 2.5G adapter for home internet. TL;DR I’m using Direct Connect because my router only has one 2.5G port and I don’t want to buy a new hub. Currently, I’m transferring around 100GB over the connection, which is about 110 MB per second—much slower than expected. When I closed a Twitch stream, it spiked to 200–220MB/s, but it should have been faster. The issue might be related to hardware acceleration or encoding settings. Side note: streaming or using multiple monitors shouldn’t cause lag, so it’s not about that. Should I upgrade to a 2.5G-5G hub or install two 10G cards for higher speeds?
