As more people return, my internet usage increases, causing large ping spikes from 60 to 200 and then dropping. I own a wireless Zyxel LTE3302 router, but cable isn’t available nearby. Can I adjust my internet settings to improve performance?

What speed are you running at? 5GHz or 2.4GHz?

It seems like you're expressing uncertainty about what to do next.

I checked online and found that channels 1, 6, and 11 perform best at 2.4GHz, so I chose channel 11.

The issue appears to be caused by nearby 2.4GHz signals disrupting your Wi-Fi connection.

The router features a few 100mbps ethernet ports at the rear... assuming the manual is accurate. You might attempt to link a computer directly via an ethernet cable and check for a steady connection and performance. If you encounter similar issues even with a wired setup, the issue likely stems from nearby phone antennas or insufficient bandwidth from your ISP when many users are online. Should you have a stable connection using an ethernet cable, the problem could relate to weak wireless signals or excessive nearby networks interfering. In such cases, consider purchasing a separate 5 ghz wireless router. Connect it to your existing router using an ethernet cable and turn off its wireless function. Your maximum speeds would then be capped at 100 mbps due to the Ethernet port, but the new device might offer more reliable connections on 5 ghz, reducing latency and improving consistency compared to 2.4 ghz. You’d also require network cards that can communicate with the router on either 5 ghz or its higher 2.4 ghz frequency.

It seems the problem is more likely related to the tower rather than the WiFi. I also experienced similar issues with my 4G connection—tried wired setup but it didn’t help.
