They don't monitor your legs; full-body tracking works the same as with other headsets—either you use a Microsoft Kinect or rely on Lighthouses and Vive tracking devices. I own an XB360 Kinect just for fun, and there was a modification that turned a Kinect image into a 3D model in Minecraft using blocks.

Yes, Vive tracking pucks should work with the Rift.
