I purchased a second-hand monitor from Facebook last weekend and have been away from work all week. Now I’ve had the chance to install it correctly. When I checked for dead pixels, scratches, and other issues, I didn’t notice the noise. After turning off the computer, there’s a high-pitched buzz from the back that disappears when I disconnect the power cable. Is this a typical problem? Can it be fixed? My monitor is a Samsung Odyssey G9. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It’s typical coil whine, actually. Monitors can produce it even when turned off. Sometimes it occurs because a small power supply remains active, which might be sufficient.
