TPM chip versus CPU with integrated TPM (fTPM from AMD)
You should keep a backup of your TPM keys in case the processor fails. Using Secure Boot with TPM adds extra protection, but it doesn’t eliminate the need for a backup. With a motherboard TPM module, you can replace the CPU and still access your data without relying on key backups.
Make sure you have a solid backup of your data. This way, you won’t worry about the TPM encountering problems. The drive might fail unexpectedly, which is a more significant concern. However, this applies only if you’re using BitLocker or something similar. You can still keep your data unencrypted on the disk.
