I examined the differences between so and router mode deco functions. Losing parental controls is a concern since they help organize devices on the mesh by person and block unknown ones. Is there an Omada alternative for this? Can deco run in router mode as well? The main problem is that some ISPs restrict using external routers, forcing you to connect directly to their WAN port. If a router can link to another router while remaining functional, can you still keep deco in router mode? Also, the issue with dual NAT warnings when connecting LAN and WAN ports is worth considering.
You're correct. Assigning a fixed LAN IP to the main Deco unit in the router's client list helps prevent disconnections when DHCP IPs are renewed. Make sure you review the relevant documentation.
