Toshiba wt8-a fails to detect a bootable drive for Windows 10.
I own a tablet (Toshiba wt8-a) that came with Windows 8.1. It performed poorly, running very slowly and leaving almost no free space. I considered flashing Android to improve speed and free up storage. First, I used gparted to wipe the disk and created an ext4 partition. After installing Android 8.1, it worked well but had several issues—screen stayed on, tearing, repeated power button resets, and difficulty opening the screen. I repeated the process with gparted and installed Android 7.1, which was slightly better but still had minor bugs. Eventually, I tried Windows 10, hoping for better compatibility. I reformatted the drive as NTFS using gparted and made a bootable USB with Rufus, but when I booted it, the system refused to start. I experimented with different file systems (GPT FAT32, GPT NTFS, MBR NTFS) and backed up data to an HDD before copying files back. None resolved the problem. Could you suggest possible reasons for this issue? Also, any alternative solutions you recommend? Thanks!
