Top Wi-Fi 6E laptop cards for 2022 offer high speed and reliability.
I recently purchased a Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15 Gaming laptop with an AMD 5800H and RTX 3060, equipped with 16 GB of RAM. I upgraded my RAM to 40 GB and noticed frequent lag when using my Wi-Fi 6 router during gaming sessions. I’m looking for a newer Wi-Fi 6E card to eliminate the lag and ensure smoother performance. I’ve searched but haven’t found suitable options, often hearing that this particular model is superior. I’m not very skilled at researching, so I’m hoping you can assist me in finding the best solution. Thank you!
Your laptop's Wi-Fi card is a Realtek RTL8852AE WI-FI 6 802.11ax PCIe adapter.
It's not just your wireless card, but also the equipment on the other side. Don't waste time upgrading to 802.11ax or WIFI 6E if your router only supports 802.11ac or older 802.11ax. A wired Ethernet connection offers the best performance. You can't avoid the constant data conversion between radio signals and back, which causes delays. Multiplayer and online games work better with high bandwidth wireless for big transfers, but it helps little for small data packets. Don't search for other wireless cards—spend your time elsewhere. Opt for an Ethernet cable if you can.
Is your router certified for 6E? Are you positioned within the same room as the router during gaming and experiencing lag? 6E enables access to the 6 GHz frequency band, providing a potential boost in data rates, speed, and capacity. However, it tends to be more affected by interference from walls and devices. If your router only supports Wifi 6, the built-in laptop card should suffice.
