To whom it may concern. I struggled to locate a forum for asking about VR requirements for smooth PC gaming. In my experience, many years ago I bought an Oculus device—probably the Oculus 2. While playing War Thunder there, everything functioned well, though resolution was low and planes appeared blurry from a distance. I upgraded to the Meta Quest 2, which improved graphics. Still, the game would stutter and drop frames when trying War Thunder, making it hard to focus. I had to reduce settings to barely visible levels, but even then VR struggled to run smoothly. I’m seeking alternatives that can handle War Thunder at a decent resolution without issues. I recently replaced my graphics card, motherboard, and other components, planning to test VR again tomorrow. Though I doubt Quest 2 will deliver the performance needed for such a demanding game, I hope it can work well if possible. Please advise on options that would let me enjoy War Thunder comfortably. Thank you.

The issue is unlikely to resolve by switching headsets. The most probable cause is that your PC’s hardware was sufficient for the older headset’s resolution but insufficient for the Quest 2. When playing PC games in VR, the headset mainly shows the images sent from your PC. Upgrading to a higher-resolution model would likely make the problem worse. Without knowing your PC’s specifications, it’s difficult to determine if it can handle the required performance.
