I noticed your laptop is really close to your router, and your PC is in another room from it. That could definitely be the cause.

Sure, I'd test it a few times in the same space as your computer and let me know what happens. If nothing improves, we'll need to replace the adapter.

Agreed. Being one-room over shouldn't create too much trouble. If it were at the far end of your house I’d notice a big difference. These USB adapters are mainly for laptops without an internal WiFi card. If you have a PCIe slot, using that is best. Particularly for gaming. It would be even better to route a CAT5e cable from the next room to your desktop PC.

I ran a ping test on my phone and it didn’t bounce as frequently as my PC did. The best number on my phone was 43 and on my PC it was 126. I notice such a big gap, which makes me consider PCIe cards. Thanks to everyone for your feedback.

It's not always necessary to place antennas on the top of a PC; they can actually lower the signal unless the router is positioned behind it.
