I’ve started exploring the WWI and WWII periods in history class, and I need a project that feels authentic—something I can immerse myself in for about three months. I’m looking for a story or multiplayer format that lets me truly experience what it’s like to be there. I don’t mind a game with a narrative or team-based play, but I want to avoid just watching videos and never really getting involved. After that, I’d like an RPG where I can get fully engaged; I’ve spent a lot of time on CS:GO back in the day and L4D2, but those didn’t provide the same impact. I haven’t had that “WOW” moment, so I’ve considered Star Citizen, but it’s not working out because of broken promises. I don’t enjoy fantasy games—I prefer space, western, and modern titles, and I’m okay with them being realistic.

For the WW1 genre, Verdun and Tannenburg make excellent options for realistic shooters.
