I'm searching for a suitable cpu cooler for my Ryzen 5 1600 that can handle overclocking. It's currently running at 3.9GHz with the stock cooler, maintaining temperatures between 70c and 80c during full AIDA64 load. I'm interested in options that either lower the temps or provide enough headroom to push it higher to around 4GHz or 4.1GHz. My budget is roughly £20 to £60, depending on the cooler's performance.

coolermaster 212 evo offers great value at 22£. Avoid purchasing the 212 led hyper tubo as it lacks proper airflow support.

I tried the Hyper 212 Evo but wasn't satisfied with the results. I changed to a pure copper base from Zalman and got the CPNS 9900 LED. It performed significantly better than the Evo on my 1600.

I have bought an Arctic Liquid Freezer 240, thanks to all the advice. How is it functioning? Are there any issues? What was the installation process like? How effectively does it cool?

I have updated and bought an Arctic Liquid Freezer 240, thanks to all the advice! How is it performing? Are there any issues? What was the installation like? How effectively does it cool?

It’s working well overall. The CPU temperature fluctuates between 20°C and 35°C during regular use and reaches a maximum of 67°C under full load (AIDA64). Installation was fine, though I couldn’t place it in the top of my CM Master Case 5 because the fan holes didn’t align properly. So I removed my CD drive and moved it to the front.

Hey could you tell me about your OC settings I can't get it much higher than 3,7ghz without running insanely hot (could be due to maybe me putting on the cooler faulty (with thermal paste etc) so I'm wondering about your OC settings. So if you dont mind sharing them
🙂
