Top-rated 24-inch 144Hz display
Top-rated 24-inch 144Hz display
Hello everyone – after installing the newest Nvidia FreeSync driver, I’m finally purchasing a 144Hz display. I presently own a 27-inch Acer monitor with a 1080 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate, which I acquired approximately two years ago prior to my PC upgrade.
I'm now downsizing to a 24-inch size due to budget constraints preventing me from acquiring a 1440p 27-inch screen; therefore, I’d appreciate your opinions on the following choices:
ASUS VG248QE – 3D functionality is not desired.
ViewSonic XG2402 – There are positive reviews and it's an affordable option available on Amazon, but it's currently out of stock with no restocking date scheduled.
AOC G2460PF – This appears to be a very appealing model.
HANNspree HG244PJB – It’s a cost-effective choice.
Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated! P.S. I reside in the United Kingdom, so it must be a product released locally.
Thank you all.
Nvidia’s G-Sync technology is now available for a wider range of displays, thanks to expanded support for AMD’s FreeSync protocol. The update allows gamers using FreeSync monitors to enjoy similar adaptive sync benefits previously exclusive to Nvidia’s hardware. This broadened compatibility represents a significant shift in the market, offering consumers more choices and potentially lowering the barrier to entry for high-refresh-rate gaming experiences. While some popular models remain outside of this new support, the expansion demonstrates Nvidia's commitment to enhancing accessibility within the adaptive sync landscape.
I understand this, however, numerous FreeSync displays continue to function effectively even without official support. My current FreeSync monitor performs exceptionally well when G-Sync is activated. My intention was to evaluate the monitors and return them if they fail to operate correctly with most of my games.
A provisional testing list exists currently, and I believe a few of my selections are included – I’ll need to verify this again…
Considering you currently possess a 27” 1080P display, acquiring another 27” monitor would ensure consistent sizing. You could then utilize the 60Hz model for browsing the web, watching YouTube or Netflix, and similar activities. Personally, I favor IPS panels – or at least VA – due to their superior color performance; therefore, if I were making this purchase, I would invest a little more in the Asus.
