Top RAM option for the AMD 5900HX laptop with a 32GB kit
You're looking for the optimal 32GB RAM kit for your ROG G513QM with an AMD 5900HX and RTX 3060 laptop. Since you need 3200MHz at 1.2V and can't enable XMP, focus on kits that meet these specifications. Avoid the 8GB or 16GB options unless they explicitly state the required voltage and speed. Check reviews for stability and compatibility, and consider kits with dual-channel support for better performance. Let me know if you need help comparing brands!
Huh? No idea what you're talking about here. For that kind of chip, you're going to want at least 3600MHz and you will need to enable XMP. AMD platforms aren't locked like some of Intel's so you should always have the option to enable XMP. I could see maybe Dell or something having an incompetent BIOS that doesn't give you options it should, but that should in no way be an issue on an Asus laptop. Again, not sure exactly what you're talking about, but the closest thing I can think of is die density. That's about the number of chips that make up the given capacity of a stick of RAM, and in general, more is better (i.e. lower density is better than higher density). However, at capacities like 32GB, you're probably going to be relegated to 16bit regardless, simply because it's not possible to fit enough 8bit chips.
According to this article, RAM configurations on AMD laptops are fixed, preventing changes like XMP profiles. On Reddit I saw someone mention buying XMP RAM but it was stuck at the default 2666Mhz setting. I’m looking for the optimal RAM for my 32GB kit, but the online options don’t match what I need. I’m also worried about getting the wrong part and being unable to use it.
