I currently use a modest PSU (Corsair VS450) which I obtained as a replacement for my faulty Vantec 750W. It runs with an i5-6600K overclocked to 4.7Ghz and a GTX 1080 set to factory OC. In the past, I tried pushing the GPU to 21++Mhz but it only worked briefly before the power supply would fail during the day. However, at night with cooler temperatures, the system handles that well (overclock). Also, in summer my PC tends to auto-restart if I try to use it. Given the room temperature of around 33°C and a wooden interior, it heats up easily. What PSU would be best for overclocking and handling higher temps? Thanks in advance!

Corsair VS isn't a strong PSU; consider tier 4 options in this ranking.
Check out Seasonic and their S12II 620w model, which appears to be available at a discount.

I believe your computer isn't restarting due to temperature issues. The main cause seems to be the low-quality PSU. The Corsair vs Series model is a subpar PSU. You should replace it if you want safe operation. The 550 Watt EVGA SuperNOVA G2 is a solid PSU that can manage loads under 650W. In my opinion, the Seasonic Prime Titanium @ 650W is the best option if you're okay with the price.

To boost CPU and case temperatures, consider upgrading your case and CPU cooling systems. What cooling solutions do you have available?

Seeking a unit near Tier 1 will assist in meeting your needs for the component. Units are considered better because they are more dependable and durable. Don’t forget to mention your budget for a fitting PSU and where you’d like to buy it.

So you're sitting in your room in 90 degreeF heat? Don't even bother trying to overclock, there is no PSU in the world that will help you, and even the best case cooling isn't going to help either.
Take that money you have for a PSU and buy an air conditioner.

XD well the downsides of having a room made out of wood, yeah will look at best PSU's available
Its cool at night though, that I can push the rig well.

geofelt: Corsair VS isn't a top choice; consider tier 4 here: Try to find a tier 1 or 2 model if possible. Seasonic is reliable; their S12II 620w appears to be on sale now. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a...6817151096 Appreciate the suggestion!

Lutfij :
Looking for a unit as close to Tier 1 will help you keep up with your demands of the component. There is a reason that units are ranked higher than others due to being more reliable and robust.
Oh right, you forgot to include your budget for a suitable PSU and the place you'd like to purchase it from.
Probably under $150/ RM 800 locally.
I live in Malaysia so factoring the low value of USD/MYR exchange and also we don't have Newegg/Amazon/Microcenter here. We have Lelong.my though.

I believe your PC isn’t restarting due to temperature issues. The main cause seems to be the low-quality power supply unit. The Corsair vs Series model is of poor quality. You should replace it if you want safe operation. The 550 Watt EVGA SuperNOVA G2 is a solid PSU that can handle loads under 650W. In my opinion, the Seasonic Prime Titanium @ 650W is the best option if you’re okay with the price.

If you’re looking to boost CPU and case temperatures, consider upgrading your case and CPU cooling system. What coolers, fans, and cases do you have?

Thanks for the advice! I’m currently using an NZXT H440 with both panels open, swapping the front fans for Jetflo 120s and a Corsair H45 AIO in push-pull configuration (Jetflo 120+ the stock fan). I pair it with Cooler Master Mastergel Maker for the CPU and the top fans are the original 120 FN V2 fans included in the case. At night, I can push that weak PSU to heavy workloads or gaming since it stays cool, but during the day it even crashes while watching YouTube—sigh.
