BF1 is performing exceptionally and would be a solid choice if you're focusing solely on the player base. Titanfall 2 is indeed a shooter, though neither Titanfall 2 nor Infinite Warfare achieved strong results on PC. I understand Titanfall 2 has enough players to avoid issues, but it still trails behind BF1 in numbers. Infinite Warfare only shows up faintly on the Steam statistics page.

In Paladins you control artificial characters, not actual individuals. Take a look at the names, they don’t represent real persons. Just your human allies are present
