I chose a 14700k build but felt unsure about selecting the motherboard. All options looked similar, though I’m looking for something with solid features and straightforward installation since I’m assembling the PC myself. Right now, I’m leaning toward the Gigabyte Z790 UD AX, which also supports built-in Wi-Fi.

We’ve covered all the details in one update. Share your budget, needs, and preferred shops and we’ll compile everything into a clear list. This way you save time instead of checking each part separately.

That's unfortunate, but I'll remember this for next time. This was my most recent inquiry about the build, and all other details are complete.

No particular cause is indicated. The issue seems to stem from performance rather than CPU quality.

In my country the cost is roughly equivalent to what you'd pay for a Ryzen 7 7700X, though I'm open to hearing other recommendations.

At the same cost, I prefer the 7700X.

Slightly improved version with fewer parts, uses less power, offers better upgrades, avoids the serious problems intel reports about the CPU failing unexpectedly. The 7700x could be a bit slower, but you’ll get significantly more value overall.

14700K requires a more expensive Z board to unlock its full potential. There’s no upgrade route—power consumption is higher and it runs hotter, necessitating a larger cooler. Performance typically stays around 7700X. At 1440p or above, the difference isn’t noticeable. For 1080p it might be debatable.

It's worth noting that instead of purchasing an expensive Z-board, you could opt for a 7800x3D and a B850 at the same cost.
