Hi there! I'm not sure if this fits in the O.S. or Programs part, but I need to check community suggestions for a beginner-friendly guide on connecting to a Windows 10 PC from the same room. I want to be able to use ZBrush, Maya, and Photoshop on the Windows machine while running Blender, Substance Painter, and Krita on a Linux setup. The goal is to easily switch between projects without moving between PCs. I prefer keeping everything on separate Windows desktops rather than using a virtual machine, since past licensing issues and compatibility problems have been a problem. I also don<|pad|>'side not using a KVM switch, as my Cintiq and 3D Mouse don't work well with it. Thanks!

You have several options available. Parsec stands out with low latency, many features, and a free version. RDP could also work depending on your setup. Configure remote desktop on the Windows machine (it requires a single setting in the preferences) and note down the PC name. On the Linux side, use Remmina, which you can install from the official store. In the top-left, click "Add a New Connection Profile" and set the protocol to RDP. Input your PC name as the server, then enter your credentials. You can adjust settings later for better performance. For file sharing, RDP allows connecting via a network folder—install Samba on one system and follow the instructions to add a share. This method usually works smoothly without much hassle. Keep in mind that remote connections may introduce latency and compression, so for tasks needing precise color accuracy, it's best to connect locally.
