Success in a game isn't mainly about popularity. Much hinges on your character. Some pros attract many viewers while others have few. Play what you love; audiences notice if you're enjoying yourself and engaging with chat. You don't need to be an expert, but familiarity helps spark conversations. Choose games that are trending and well-known. Streaming Tribes: Ascend isn't mandatory if you enjoy the experience—try mods like Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas, which combine popular titles. Being active in larger chat communities around similar games boosts visibility; viewers are more likely to return if they see your name. Building traction is tough, so aim for the first 20 viewers and gradually improve. Streaming isn't about chasing fame; it's about consistency. Deliver your best content, and a regular schedule helps people know when to tune in. If you stream sporadically—sometimes weekly, at random times—it can lose interest quickly.

New or restricted updates (like betas without NDAs) are emerging. I noticed a handful (~4) minor channels joining the Destiny Beta.

It is more about how you interact with your viewers than what game you are playing. There is no magical game that will guarantee viewers. But I would suggest, at first, staying away from the big popular games like WoW, CS:G0, LoL, Dota2 because it is very easy to get lost in the crowd. People hardly scroll through all the players, they usually stick with the top five streamers in that game. Another way that could help you get noticed is by playing the big new releases the day after they come out.

Any new game or beta. But you need to be talking also. I avoid streams with silence and music but no talk. Thats why I always talk, even if there isn't nobody watching. Sometimes not-so-popular games get views because people are channel surfing. Like Loadout etc.

Everyone has mentioned this before—watching many viewers is unlikely unless you're playing a specific game. You need to gradually grow your audience over time. Starting with a newly released title that people are eager to see can be beneficial. If you're committed, promoting yourself and becoming engaging and interactive with viewers is key. Your personality matters more than the games you play.
