Since he isn’t very tech-savvy, I’m thinking about useful apps that could help me show him how to install screen apps and let him handle most of the setup myself while guiding him. For those interested, the system specs are a Ryzen 5 5600G with 16GB RAM, an A520 motherboard, a cheap OEM 500W PSU, keyboard, mouse, headset, a 21.5-inch monitor at 75Hz, all purchased for around 2,000 Brazilian reais (about 400 USD).
Installing Windows isn't possible while a remote desktop service is active on the computer. At installation time the software wouldn't be running anymore or not at all. — Edit: What about your uncle’s setup? If it involves web use, email, etc., it should work fine on Linux.

Do you know the Linux version he uses? It might be easiest to run a VNC server. He’ll probably have to type some terminal commands, might need to adjust the firewall and set up port forwarding through his router. ~Note: depending on the distro, TeamViewer could be a simpler option.
