Run Avast in silent mode with no pop-ups or automatic updates. It appears no viruses have detected so far.

I rely on Malwarebytes for overall antivirus protection and SpyBot for detecting spyware and adware.

No, we don't use those types of tools. We prefer other methods for keeping our system tidy.

I've relied on Avast for three years. I've never encountered a virus before. However, my tech skills are decent enough for a career in IT, so it might just be my ability to tell real popups from fake ones.

The top option I encountered for virus protection during extensive testing is Malwarebytes. Microsoft's approach doesn't perform well with virus database updates.
