I've grown tired of Free Avira. It keeps the cursor stuck in the background, and removing it fixed the issue. Looking for a free antivirus alternative—no need for Windows Defender either!

Use Avast for basic defense and Malwarebytes for detailed checks. While strong antivirus relies on caution, avoid risky sites and suspicious downloads to stay safe.

I recently tried this a few months back. 360 offers great free tools but it was too rigid, generating many false alarms and only revealing them when the software wouldn’t cooperate. Still, with some adjustments it can adapt to your needs. I’m not sure if there’s a superior option available, particularly if you’re often exposed to risks. Comodo would be my top choice, though it doesn’t prioritize protection as much as 360 but remains quite effective. I’m now using... Avira.

I avoid suspicious sites and unsafe files. My friends and a few kids contribute advanced items via their high-tech storage devices!

You might also consider MSE, available at no cost. Other options include Malwarebytes, Anti-Malware, Avast!, AVG, and Bitdefender, all offering free antivirus protection.
