Hello everyone, I’m considering upgrading my PC next year from an Intel i5 8400 and ASRock Z370 Pro4 to an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X. I’m unsure which motherboard to pick, avoiding unnecessary features and sticking to a budget of around 200 euros. I’ve checked a few options but haven’t found a better choice within that price range. My preferences are for decent cooling, while the rest are nice to have. If you have any recommendations, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, because you have a lot of cash left over or something? The MSI B450 MAX GP A-Pro Tomahawk is almost half the price and the only downside is an extra M.2 slot. When picking among these options, ASUS TUF seems best, ASRock might be a close second if it's around 30-40 dollars cheaper, MSI doesn’t stand out since it’s not better than their B450 boards and costs more, and Gigabyte is out because their X570 line uses 16MB ROM on all models, even the high-end ones.

I understand your concerns about making smart financial choices. Opting for mid-range options can offer better long-term stability. What do you think about choosing a more balanced approach?

Both MSI B450 MAX and X570 boards offer similar performance for 12-core CPUs and 32MB ROM. The X570 is justified only if you require additional M.2 slots, need enhanced USB or PCIe speeds, or prefer a more expensive build. Ultimately, it depends on your specific needs.
