Starting point is a 5800X3D, these components don’t focus on memory speed. I’m hoping for 3800 CL14 (the quickest reliable synched option on Ryzen 5000) to stay within a few percentage points of the 3200 CL16 setup you’re using now. Most B450 boards usually cap around 3600–4000MT/s when not synched, so just aim to hit or near the top of the FCLK on Ryzen 5000. A 4800 is achievable on some boards, but it’s uncertain even for high-end X570/B550 systems (my X570 Taichi wouldn’t reach that speed, though it works on my X570 Master). A low-end B450 board offers no real chance against it. Ultimately, you’d be in desynched FCLK range, which often leads to worse performance than a synched configuration unless you’re very experienced. If you need a bigger jump, consider a capacity upgrade—maybe switching to 3600 CL18—but this kit doesn’t make much sense, especially since even with memory improvements, B die kits at that price point would outperform it in every aspect.

Hello. The IMC is located on the CPU, not the motherboard. People can easily reach 3600MHZ on the 5800X3D, but I have strong doubts you could exceed 4000MHZ or even 4800MHZ. It seems the high RAM speed fits better with Intel 12th gen using DDR4. Edit, @RONOTHAN## provided a clearer explanation about why it might not be worth buying.

Hello. The IMC is located on the CPU, not the motherboard. People can easily reach 3600MHZ on the 5800X3D, but I have strong doubts you could exceed 4000MHZ or even 4800MHZ. It seems the high RAM speed fits better with Intel 12th gen using DDR4. Edit, @RONOTHAN## provided a clearer explanation about why it might not be worth buying.

5800X3D won't support DDR4-4800, particularly on a lower-end B450 motherboard. The optimal range is DDR4-3600. With some luck, DDR4-3800 or 4000 might work with a solid board. AMD shared a presentation about the Ryzen 5000 series during that time. They compared DDR4-4000 to DDR4-3800 and encouraged success with DDR4-3600. Another slide highlighted DDR4-3600 as the 'sweet spot'.

It should be straightforward to target 3600 CL16-19-19. You might need to source 3200 CL14 or 3600 CL16-16-16 kits from different suppliers at a comparable cost, as these options would likely be quicker.

All the budget kits cost more than double this model. This one is priced at €103. The Trident Z in 3200 CL14 is €210, while the 3600 CL 16-16-16 version costs €270.
