I'm preparing to assemble a new PC. However, benchmarks show even integrated graphics have improved significantly. The machine will mainly handle programming and gaming—Valorant, League of Legends, The Forest, and a few smaller titles. I plan to purchase a GPU in about two years when prices stabilize. What CPU tiers should I consider? tnx

I'll wait about three weeks for the 5700G. It runs slightly slower on the CPU compared to the 5800X, but its integrated graphics are quicker than the GT 1030.

They are expected to arrive at the beginning of August, but if not, what other options should I consider?

Other options like the i9 10900K or i7 10700K don’t seem worthwhile.
Edit: I’m sorry, but the AMD 3400G could actually be a better choice.

You're in luck—they just completed a thorough review.

These latest 5000 series APUs might not perform as well after removing their IGPU feature compared to regular versions. If I were choosing an APU with plans for a dedicated GPU later, I’d still opt for a 1030 or similar and rely on the 5600x/5800x instead.
