What is this? 3900x isn't a Threadripper processor.

I believe the original poster might have adjusted the image size to 3900x or 3990x.

Some of the $200 models are acceptable; the gigabyte option or the ASUS Prime X570/B550 should appear soon.

Currently, I wouldn't recommend a 3900x board. Most X570 units are unavailable, and we're unsure about the performance of some B550 boards for power delivery.

Check for X570 models in stock. I managed to secure the last one available across my state. I paid an additional $50, but it was worth it since I needed it. ASUS is the brand I prefer, while MSI offers more budget-friendly options.

I don't like the X570 because of that tiny fan; if it stops working, it's a problem. I'll hold off until the B550 comes out.

x570 boards offer superior VRMs compared to B450 boards, mainly from MSI which provides decent options even on B450 for power-hungry chips. The B450 is generally the least reliable on x570 chipsets, except for some premium models and a few recent releases like Unify and Tomohawk. If you opt for the most budget-friendly Asus or Gigabyte boards, they tend to perform better overall. The chipset fan becomes necessary only when using PCI-E 4.0 devices such as PCI-E 4.0 M.2 SSDs or a PCI-E 4.0 graphics card in a PCI-E slot powered by the chipset. In those cases, the chipset won’t run at full speed and stays cool. Otherwise, it won’t overheat significantly. Generally, cheap yet solid choices include MSI x570 TUF gaming plus or Gigabyte x570 AORUS Elite, both supporting WiFi. For more details, refer to this document: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1.../htmlview# You’re looking for a board with at least three green checkmarks (up to 125A) in the center columns for a 3900X with overclocking. For the first version (v1.4), aim for boards showing two or more green checkmarks, ideally three.

It's a 3900x and I'm not sure why it's displaying a thread ripper for you. Lol
