Hey everyone, I'm running low on RAM and don't want to upgrade my old platform. I'm considering a replacement for my 4790k. Most modern CPUs can handle all my games smoothly on my 3440x1440/100Hz monitor, so I'm prioritizing efficiency over raw speed. I use a SFF case with a Noctua NH-U9S, which means my thermal budget is around 90W during gaming when the GPU is fully loaded. I'm looking for the CPU that offers the best power efficiency at about 100 FPS. If you have any reviews or data showing FPS and power usage without GPU logs, that would be super helpful!

I didn’t think about the 5600 before since it’s a bit newer. But the current prices look quite appealing! The 5600G is on sale now and cheaper than the 5600X. Because it runs faster, should I choose the 5600X instead?

Ordered the 5600 model, not the X variant, after discovering a discount. Total upgrade expenses, including RAM and mainboard, remain under the i5-13600k price point.
