Hello everyone, I need an upgrade and thought it would be a Ryzen 5000. Mostly I plan to use it for music production—mainly hardstyle with lots of Sylenth1, Serum, and effects. I’m not sure which CPU to choose. Prices are around what you mentioned: Ryzen 5 5600X (300,-), Ryzen 7 5800X (400-), Ryzen 9 5900X (520-). The 5600X should work now, but since I intend to use this PC for a long time (possibly a decade or more), upgrading to something like the Ryzen 7 or 9 might be better. Someone suggested checking DAWbench results, but I’m not sure how it works. Any advice would be great.

For serious workstation needs, particularly when you plan to use the computer for extended periods, the 5900x is the best choice. Its multithreaded speed compared to the 5800x justifies the cost.
