Considered alternatives that fit your budget and needs. OpenOffice and LibreOffice are solid options, though both require some maintenance. If you're open to paid solutions, look into affordable desktop versions or cloud-based tools. Keep it under $30 for a reliable experience.

Can it be saved? Or is it meant for the browser only? It works on Linux, but on Windows it messes with all my files, halves them and ruins tables and images.

No, I didn't attempt to pirate anything. It was a bad idea.

Let me clarify—if you're worried about Windows 10 deleting something, it depends on what you're trying to do. Assuming you meant whether a crash would wipe your data, yes, a system failure could lead to deletion. If you're unsure, back up your files first.

Why not just purchase Office? In reality, I've tried other options and none match well. If you rely on it often, the additional $90 is justified. Alternatively, you might explore the Reddit MS Hardware path—they offer a key for $40.

They don’t have a desktop version? I really like having a desktop app. I’m okay with Sublime Text for most tasks, but my school requires .docx files for everything.
