I've been trying to find a suitable free Windows video editor for some time. I'm not spending a lot of money, so I need something with essential features plus advanced options I can master. It should be user-friendly, intuitive, and perform better than Windows Movie Maker—ugh, that feels outdated. Appreciate the advice!

Sony Movie Studio Platinum is a solid choice. I aimed for 12 but 13 works too. It's reasonably priced and offers good value in my view.

I tried several free options and Movie Maker remains the top choice (no complaints, I checked your full post). VideoPad was used occasionally, but the quality wasn’t great. It’s unlikely you’ll find Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere free unless you’re not paying attention.

I've seen this frequently mentioned. It seems to be a reliable editor, but it often causes crashes and freezes. Simple actions like cutting files become difficult. I'm unsure if I'm using it correctly. Do you have any helpful video guides to walk me through it?

I reviewed it, and it seems suitable for your needs, but I still require it to be free.
