I'm evaluating a system refresh (MOBO, CPU, RAM, cooler). I've chosen three Asus X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi AMD 5900x Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 models. For RAM, I was thinking about 4000Mhz/C16 or 3600Mhz/C14, both around $550 AUD. But the AMD site says the 5900x only supports 3200Mhz. Why do sites suggest 4000Mhz when it's limited to 3200? What would be needed to make it work, and should I opt for a cheaper kit that upgrades to the 5950x?

If it helps, I managed to boot into Windows using the Trident Royal 3200C14 at 4000 MHz with 1.4v. I’m not sure about its stability, but I backed out when it didn’t run perfectly. I’ll give it another try now that I’m more comfortable with BIOS.
