Expensive and unless you're aiming for something truly unusual, it might be wasteful.
It varies, what you intend to do matters. A custom loop with high overclocking might be needed, or you may require a particular port size for storage. Unless you’re spending heavily, a budget of around 200 for the MBO and 400 for a better GPU seems reasonable—unless you already have an RTX 2080ti.
This looks quite moderate for our group. There are numerous options available, and I don’t have a clear recommendation for the ideal mbo right now. I’d recommend checking out some content from GamersNexus, like a Buildzoid roundup focusing on overclocking, to see how components and design details are presented. You’ll need to check the specifics yourself—such as SATA ports or NVMe slots. You should be able to locate what you need within a budget of 200-300 dollars. Edit: The video mentioned by @scottyseng seems relevant. Generally, there aren’t many updates since its release, and newer models have been released, though I’m not particularly interested in Intel-based options anymore.
I tested it on an AORUS Ultra and it performs excellently at 5GHz across all cores. For this model, I’d definitely choose AORUS. The previous generation only got Heros.
That's impressive! Thinking about what comes after AORUS Ultra?
