So, recently I bought a extra 3060ti 12gb to up my rig's proformance a bit. Of course I figured "Welp, there shouldn't be too big a improvement or whatever because it's not a 16 lane on my MAG B550 Msi, but it's enough to kinda get some more frames. Especially while I wait out the RAM stuff." Well I got it, hooked it up, powered my rig on aaaand... nothing. Went to bios made sure everything was okay, made sure the GPU was in, power back on, nothing. Only my Radeon 6700xt showing up. So I went to google. Looked for a bit then I was asking myself "What if it's the board?" And well. It is. The MAG B550 only supports 2gpu 1 m.2 or 2 m.2 1gpu. So rather than upgrade my build to AM5 and DDR5 I'm trying to find a better DDR4 AM4 board that supports 2 gpu and 2 m.2. Any recommendations?

Running AMD and Nvidia GPUs together can boost overall system performance beyond what a single GPU provides. However, achieving this requires compatible hardware like a X570 board or specific M.2 slots that connect directly to the CPU, otherwise you'll face limitations.

Many motherboards include two functional PCI-E ports even with two M.2 drives connected. The second port will carry lanes from the chipset, resulting in reduced bandwidth—typically 2 to 8 lanes, even if the slot appears as X16. A second card might function, but its performance will drop significantly. You won’t be able to run both cards simultaneously for gaming; the game will rely on just one. The second card can handle tasks like hardware encoding, extra displays, or decoding, but it won’t support the AMD card running the game itself.

It's designed for tasks that require multiple GPUs working together, typically for high-performance computing or resource-intensive applications.

My Strix B550 XE is an SLI board with tighter slot spacing compared to my Dark Hero.

Lossless Scaling is sparking interest once more. The delay added isn't worth the slight extra frames, in my opinion. I tested it with a 7900XTX and a 6650XT, but unfortunately it didn't work.
