Checking the components for a 3200MHz CL14 target. Need to decide which RAM to purchase next. Current setup includes an R5 3600 with Deepcool, G-series GPU, and a high-end CPU. Looking at performance needs and compatibility.

These are Samsung BDD chips capable of handling 3600 MHz at 16GHz. My unit meets the requirement and I can achieve 3800 MHz at 16GHz and 3200 MHz at 14GHz. The main step is enabling XMP profile. I often notice the T team offering them around $110. You can find more details here: the Newegg product page and the team's listing.

These are Samsung BDD chips capable of handling 3600 MHz at 16GHz. My unit meets the requirement and I can achieve 3800 MHz at 16GHz and 3200 MHz at 14GHz. The main step is enabling XMP profile. Why this matters is that it shows a big gap between what you can achieve and the performance you expect. The top options seem unnecessary, while 3600MHz timings with 17-18-18-38 cycles could risk Samsung B-die failure—so they’re risky. Otherwise, the two alternatives are similar, letting you choose whether to add RGB LEDs for extra cost.

From what I've learned, Vengeance LPX and RipjawsV make solid overclockers, which is why I added them. I'm aiming for a minimum of 3200 CL16 using these kits.

Only the matching frequency and timing counts count, not the specific models. Remove the heatsinks and RGB—those with identical frequencies and timings are equivalent. A 3200 CL14 is superior to a 3600 CL18 only because you should still adjust timings when running at higher frequencies, like 3600 CL16. Also, 3600 CL18 packages usually use dies that perform better with looser high-frequency settings compared to tighter low-frequency ones.

Patriot viper seems better suited for cl14 at 3200MHz. I’d prefer cl18 at 3600MHz myself, aiming to lower the CAS to 16—should be straightforward with a small voltage adjustment. A 3200MHz clock at 1800MHz isn’t useful unless your RAM can handle 3600MHz.
