I'm experiencing some performance problems while playing metro Exodus on my second run for the ending. Frame rate drops, ground cloth freezing during wind effects, enemies moving slower, and dark areas losing lighting. It seems like extra background processes might be causing these issues. I'm curious if there are any apps that effectively reduce non-essential tasks to improve gameplay stability and prevent random program launches.

Things won't start randomly. Turn off services and tweak the task scheduler (taskschd.msc) to handle OS-related tasks at specific times. Additional programs aren't helpful; you can manually end explorer.exe.
