I've also tried LanSchool, it works fine. My students dislike it too.
He's requesting exactly that kind of information. The OP mentions LanSchool works well and notes their school uses it. They also point out potential workarounds exist.
I strongly dislike this plugin on our Chromebooks, but Hapara. Educators or anyone can see what we're doing on our devices, capture screenshots, open/close tabs, and record sessions. It feels similar to surveillance by the NSA, yet your school is monitoring us. We had to accept an Acceptable Use Policy to let them do this because it breaches significant privacy concerns. It doesn't function at home or on other platforms, though I'm unsure about the pricing.
EDIT: Also review my initial post—I made changes and added more details.
EDIT2: Using Hapara offers limited options; you can only inspect via Chrome://inspect and remove the plugin code. However, it often restarts when someone accesses your Chromebook. It can be toggled on or off in incognito mode, but forcing it can feel intrusive, almost like a digital trap.
Impero is an option you can set up through the network; my high school tried it. Now universities prefer lanschool.
Impero offers nearly all services online. Visit their site for more details!
