Tool for tracking network performance and security.
Searching for a network monitoring solution that provides a full overview of your network, including connected devices like access points, phones, and PCs, along with their IP addresses. Open to using either hardware or software options.
Looking for affordable options? I haven't found many open-source solutions that fit a budget.
I don’t have a fixed budget in mind; it depends mainly on the software’s quality.
These are typically expensive requests, showing a usage style that usually works against that since I don't think you're aiming to waste money with a few thousand dollars on EMC Ionix/smarts, HP NNMi or similar enterprise options. There are some plugins for Nagios such as Hypermap, but I haven't tried any of them yet. If you were planning an open source monitoring system like Nagios or Zabbix already, there should be a straightforward topology mapping tool available. For smaller environments, it's almost about creating the diagram quickly or spending time finding an auto-topology platform.
Use a simple ping monitoring solution. You can find recommendations at the links provided. If you have some coding skills, you can build it yourself.
