Hello everyone! Recently I've been forced to rely on WiFi because of a move. We're sharing the same router. This has caused significant ping spikes, happening every 6-10 seconds and lasting about a second each. While this isn't usually a major concern, today's CSGO sessions are intense, and teleporting across the map is frustrating. In my previous home I had Ethernet, but now the closest one is about 40 inches away—running it through the halls would be impractical. (That would solve the issue, though.) I'm looking for possible fixes before considering a full house wiring upgrade. Just a heads up—speed isn't the problem; I'm pretty close to the router and my speeds are around 400dwn/300up. I'm open to buying solutions like Powerline Ethernet if that helps. Thanks, everyone!

The typical ping is around 20-30 milliseconds. Ping spikes are sudden increases in latency usually caused by network issues or server problems.

Approx 10 to 40 users online, varying by server; peaks can exceed 300 during surges

Sadly, you'll face interruptions in multiplayer games due to Wi-Fi. Updating drivers helps a bit, but it won't solve everything. My family member opposed me from running a long Ethernet cable from my router to his room. We did this in an apartment. It was attached to the upper wall corner using the same material internet technicians use, keeping the cable hidden. He also didn't want us drilling holes in either house.
