Hello everyone, I’m reaching out for help with my Tomb Raider 2013 Steam version. Every time I try to play, the Steam menu appears, offering options like play or different graphical settings. However, when I click play to start the game, a Windows message pops up stating that Tomb Raider has stopped working. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it three times, verified the game files through Steam’s integrity check, and tried all suggested graphical settings from forums. Recently, I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers, but the game still doesn’t work. I’ve played other games without issues, so I’m hoping someone can assist me. Thank you in advance for your help.

Is there any mention of removing the Rivatuner in MSI afterburner discussions, or are there other recommendations about its usage?

In certain situations, you might also attempt to locate the game's executable file within the Steam directory, right-click it, choose Properties, and verify its compatibility with Windows 7. Some discussions on Steam forums suggest turning off optimizations introduced by GeForce Experience when using that method.

I've already tested it on Windows 7, but without GeForce Experience and I couldn't run it as an administrator either.

Do you know the reason behind the graphical options staying unchanged after uninstalling and reinstalling Tomb Raider, preventing them from returning to their original state despite Steam's deletion of previous choices?

Just completed the uninstallation of NVIDIA drivers, reinstalled them, removed Tomb Raider, verified registry and documents for any remnants of Tomb Raider, cleared the app cache from Steam folder and Blob.

I'm restarting Tomb Raider once more to check for any differences after my recent attempt, hoping it will resolve the issue in just five minutes.

If it doesn't function this time, I'll share the message from the event log viewer.
